Pros

  • Price:As this is an older model in the Bushnell Tour series it can be found for a reasonable price.
  • Comfortable:The size, weight and shape of the Bushnell Tour V2 make it easier to carry and operate.

Cons

  • Battery Life:This unit uses a 3-volt lithium battery with a shorter usage life. It may last about 20 rounds and replacing it throughout the year can become expensive. Many other devices use 9-volt batteries that last for many years
  • Shakiness: Reading distances can become difficult at over 150 yards due to bodily movement. It is best to lean against a solid surface or place the rangefinder against the arm or face to lock on.

Ease of Use

The shape and feel of the Tour V2 is comfortable and it also features rubber gripping areas for easier use. The unit can be held with one or two hands, but it may be easier to hold it with one hand while keeping it as steady as possible with the other. The carrying pouch holds the unit securely even without closing the lid, and the lid can be shut with its magnetic latch or zipped closed for better security.

The unit offers 5x magnification with an adjustable eyepiece. There are two buttons on the device, one is for powering it on and firing the laser and it is located on the top of the unit. The other button, located on the left side, is used to toggle between modes, including PinSeeker and scanning mode.

Features

PinSeeker technology makes it easier to distinguish targets from reflective objects in the background. Once the Tour V2 has located the closest target within its aim it displays a circle around the flagstick icon and shows the distance. The device also features automatic Scan mode that allows the user to pan across a landscape while receiving updated data on the distances to multiple targets.

Obtaining Readings

According to Bushnell the Tour V2, under the best conditions, can range flagsticks at 300 yards, trees at 700 yards and highly reflective objects at 1,000 yards. At less than 150 yards the device can obtain distances rapidly. Increasing to around 200 yards the device may be more likely to read background objects instead of the flagstick. Above 200 yards it becomes more difficult to control PinSeeker mode as there is more delay for the unit to lock in on and display the appropriate distance. When utilizing Scan mode the unit may show some lag, as is the case when both modes are used together.

Cost/Value

While the Tour V2 comes at a decent price it also lacks certain features found in more expensive models. For the user that has no strict requirements this device should still be suitable for those that only need the basic functions.
